FitnessTO: the City of Toronto's Fitness Programme
FitnessTO is the City of Toronto's own fitness programme. GetMovingTO is not affiliated with it, we just index the schedules. It is broader than most people realise: as well as weight and cardio rooms, the City tags yoga, pilates, tai chi, Zumba, indoor walking and running tracks, strength and conditioning, HIIT, chair yoga and Gentle Fit under FitnessTO. That works out to roughly a fifth of every drop-in session the City runs, spread across the 65 community recreation centres the City lists as covered. You can pay per visit, buy a day pass, or take a membership that covers unlimited visits.
Cost
Memberships come in three tiers: Weight/Cardio only ($33.73 a month, $177.70 a year), Plus Swim ($39.56 a month), and All Access ($49.44 a month, $280.33 a year). A single class is $10.64 and an All Access day pass is $15.64. Adults 60+ and youth 13–18 pay half price on all of it, and everything is free at the City's 38 free community recreation centres.

Common questions
What does a FitnessTO membership actually include?
It depends on the tier. Weight/Cardio covers weight and cardio rooms. Plus Swim adds lane and leisure swims. All Access adds drop-in group fitness and aquatic fitness classes on top. The City lists the current inclusions on its Fitness page.
Do I need a membership to use a City fitness centre?
No. You can pay per visit, $15.64 for an All Access day pass, or $10.64 for a single fitness or aquatic class. A membership only makes sense if you go regularly.
Is FitnessTO free anywhere?
Yes. At the City's 38 free community recreation centres every City-delivered drop-in and registered programme is free, fitness rooms included, for every age group.
Are there discounts?
Adults 60+ and youth aged 13–18 pay half price on every membership, day pass and multi-visit pass. The Welcome Policy also provides fee subsidies for eligible Toronto residents.
Where do I buy one?
From the City, at a community recreation centre front desk or through the City of Toronto booking system. GetMovingTO cannot sell or manage memberships; we only show you what is running and where.
