Aquafit in Toronto

Aquafit is one of the most consistently popular drop-ins the City offers. It's low-impact, surprisingly intense if you push yourself, and welcoming to all body types and ages. Most pools run morning and evening aquafit sessions, and the regulars at places like Mitchell Field, Birchmount, and Regent Park have been showing up for years. New people are always welcome — instructors are good at giving modifications.

Cost

$4–$7 drop-in. Free at the 24 free centres. Most pools have a 10-class pass.

Where to find aquafit in Toronto

Common questions

Do I need to know how to swim?

No. Aquafit is done in shallow water (waist to chest deep) where you can stand the whole time.

What should I bring?

Swimsuit, towel, water bottle. Aqua shoes are optional but helpful on slick pool decks.

Are there senior-specific aquafit sessions?

Yes — many centres run gentle aquafit for older adults. Check the schedule for "Aquafit 60+" or "Gentle Aquafit".
