Data Sources & Methodology

Everything on GetMovingTO traces back to public City of Toronto data. This page explains what we pull, how often, and what we do with it.

What we sync

• Registered Programs and Drop-in Courses Offering, the class schedule feed
• Parks and Recreation Facilities, centre names, addresses, and descriptions

How often

A scheduled sync runs daily at 9 a.m. Toronto time. Each run replaces the previous snapshot in full, so removed or cancelled classes disappear on the next sync.

What we add

We geocode facility addresses so distance search works, normalize course titles into browsable activity categories, and write the editorial guidance on neighbourhood and activity pages ourselves.

Known limitations

The City's feed reflects scheduled programming, not real-time availability. A class cancelled the morning of will still appear until the next sync. Always confirm with the centre before travelling.
